Position Description

Commercial Lender

Savers Bank is looking for an established and experienced lender in our market area to develop and maintain commercial business. This is a new position.

We are a growing Mutual bank with $400mil in assets. We offer competitive products and pricing, supportive branches and great operational support.

Savers Bank is looking to add another experienced Commercial Lender to our team to expand into existing and contiguous markets. This lender will develop and service a wide variety of secured loans or lines of credit. The lender will work closely with prospective and existing customers seeking commercial loans or lines of credit. The individual will analyze the applicant’s financial status and credit to determine feasibility of granting the loan. He/she will approve loans within established limits or will refer loans to the Loan Committee for approval. The Lender must verify that the loan agreements are complete and accurate according to bank policy.

Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of commercial lending experience (both C&I and Commercial Real Estate) in our market or close by, strong credit skills and a record of success in attaining and retaining commercial business. The candidate must be familiar with a variety of Commercial Lending’s concepts, practices and procedures and rely on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position reports to the VP & Senior Lending Officer.

Administrative Assistant

Part Time

This position is located in Southbridge and is part-time. Days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 to 3:00PM - may vary.

Responsible for secretarial and administrative support to the Investment Officer.

Performs secretarial and administrative duties in support of the Investment function. Prepares and send out mailings, prepares Power Point presentations for clients, and maintains customer databases.

Essential Functions

  1. Maintains customer data base
  2. Prepares and executes mailings
  3. Works closely with the Investment VP to provide essential services to customers
  4. Call customers to set up appointments
  5. Prepare Power Point presentations for customers
  6. Track expenses on Excel

Part-Time Teller

We have an opening for a Part-time teller in Sturbridge. Right now the days worked are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The candidate will be expected to work at least 2 Saturdays a month.

Teller I is the predominant level of the Teller job family. The Teller is the first point of contact with the customer and must strive for customer service excellence. Also directs the customer to other banking services and bank personnel through referrals and cross selling. Under the close supervision of the Head Teller and other Branch Management staff, performs a variety of teller and related functions to provide customer services in conformance with established policy and operating procedures.

Essential Functions

  1. Organizes and sets up work station for days activity, i.e., orders cash as may be needed; obtains necessary forms and supplies for set up of work station.
  2. Processes a variety of savings and related transactions, i.e., savings deposits, withdrawals, transfers, through computer terminal. Receives and disburses cash to and from customers. May process mail transactions as assigned. Handles all customer transactions with discretion and confidentiality. Redeems and sells bonds, money orders, etc.
  3. Receives and processes customer payments, i.e., mortgage, installment and collateral loans, etc. Processes payments.
  4. Cashes customer's checks under supervision and within limits of established Bank policy.
  5. Balances cash and daily work upon completion of assigned shift; follows up and reconciles discrepancies.
  6. Responsible for product and services knowledge as well as cross sales through referrals of the products and services based on prescribed goals.
  7. In the course of working with customers, the employee may encounter abusive, aggressive or unpredicted threatening behavior. Must observe safety and security practices at all times.
